Amherst Lions Club’s 35th Annual Craft Fair on December 5thThe Lions Club Craft Fair begins at 9:00AM and ends at 3:00PM AMHERST – On December 5th, over 75 of New England’s finest crafters and their wares will be waiting for you at the Amherst Middle School. The Craft Fair begins at 9:00AM and ends at 3:00PM.Parking will be available at the Amherst Middle School or Souhegan High School with complimentary transportation being provided by Contemporary Chrysler to/from the high school, if desired. Last year almost 1,200 people came to see what we believe to be the largest, and in the view of this writer, best Craft Fair in New England. If it is a quality craft that you are looking to buy for a friend or a loved one, we will have it. Lion Frank Lombardi has organized this Craft Fair for many years and he carefully selects the crafters based on their variety and quality of their products. For $1.00 / ticket or $5.00 for 6 tickets, over 50 craft fair items and local business donations will be raffled off, and you need not be in attendance to win. Additionally, a silent auction will be held for 8-10 high value items donated from local business. The Lions Club’s food service line, headed by Lion Anne Hoag will be serving sandwiches, beverages and donuts, and of course, Lion Richard Ball’s renowned chili. If past history is repeated, you had better buy your chili before 12:30PM or it will be all gone. Finally, the Amherst Lions Club uses the total net proceeds from this Craft Fair to support Sight and Hearing charities (Lions Club primary charities of choice) as well as local Community Service Projects such as Boy/Girl Scouts, Holiday Toy Store, Amherst Junior Women’s Christmas Baskets, Camp Allen, Bridges, Meals on Wheels, and last year two $1,500 college scholarships each went to two deserving Amherst high school students. By the way, if it is cold and snowy, we have coffee, tea and hot chocolate!
